Questions 1, 2 and 3 on page 198.

Question 1.

Describe the religious ideas and the social structure of the ancient Egyptians.

First, tell me about the Egyptian religion. Did they believe in many gods, just one, or no gods at all? What were their beliefs about the afterlife and how did they prepare for it? Secondly, you need to desribe the social structure of the Egyptians. Who was at the top, who was at the bottom?

Question 2.

Compare and contrast the Egyptians' beliefs about their kings and their gods with the beliefs of the Mesopotamians. First you need to remember what the Mesopotamians believed about their gods. Keep Ziggurats in mind while answering your question. If you don't remember, look back at Chapter 6 (esp. pages 158-9 in lesson 2) about Mesopotamia in your textbook. Then, tell me how the beliefs of the Mesopotamians and Egyptians were the same and how they were different. If you want to use a diagram that would be a good idea.

Question 3.

What was the importance of farming to the economy of ancient Egypt? Why was farming important, did it impact many lives and if so, how?
