Question 1.

How did Qin Shihuangdi unify China, and what did he do to maintain his empire? What did the first emperor of a unified China do to bring the entire country under his control? Then, once he was in power, what did he do to keep the power? Some rulers try to be popular, some lower taxes, others use the army to spread fear. What did Qin do?

Question 2.

Qin Shihuangdi unified China. who were the rulers that unified Mesopotamia and Egypt? How did each ruler create a unified empire? For this question, you have not yet had Egypt, so you may skip that half. Which leaders united all of Mesopotamia? To answer this you will need to look back in your book at chapter 6.

Question 3.

How was Qin's rule different from the rule of the Shang and the Zhou? You must review the two earlier rulers, mentioned in lesson 1, to answer this question. What styles or government did each dynasty have? How were these three forms of government different from one another?
