Dear Students, Parents and Visitors,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Lebanon Public Schools website on behalf of the Lebanon Board of Education, administration, teachers and staff. Lebanon, Connecticut is a rural district in northern New London County. The Lebanon Public Schools serves approximately 1100 students from the Town of Lebanon and neighboring communities. The district is comprised of three schools, Lebanon Elementary School, Lebanon Middle School and Lyman Memorial High School. Lyman Memorial High School includes the Lebanon Regional Agriculture Science Technology Center.
The local bumper sticker proudly states, “Lebanon is Farm Country”. Indeed, Lebanon and the surrounding communities are steeped in a rich agricultural tradition that is alive and well today. The school system operates to honor the local rural culture while providing a Pre-K through Grade 12 educational program that will support students in achieving the knowledge, skills and abilities they will need to be successful in the global community. Curriculum across all grades is developed and implemented to be engaging, challenging and foster cognitive development for our students. Our Pre-K program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and Lyman Memorial High School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The Lebanon Public School students perform well on state and national assessments, are active in the community, and participate in acclaimed arts and athletic programs.
Being recently hired as the superintendent, I am excited to be joining the Lebanon Public School community. I am looking forward to getting to know the students, parents and community members and working alongside the dedicated and talented administrative team, teachers and support staff. As you navigate through the district and school websites, you will come to recognize that the Lebanon Public School District is focused on meeting the educational needs of all students. I hope you enjoy your virtual visit.
Robert J. Angeli
Superintendent of the Lebanon Public Schools
The Lebanon Public School District consists of three schools: Lebanon Elementary School, Lebanon Middle School, and Lyman Memorial High School, which includes a Vocational-Agricultural Department. In each of the schools, academic excellence is stressed, citizenship is promoted, and community service is expected.
Meeting the needs of children is paramount in achieving our mission. Through the teamwork of outstanding teachers, administrators, and parents, students obtain the skills necessary for successful and meaningful employment in the Twenty-first Century. Lessons stress creativity, innovation, problem-solving, and the ability to think critically and creatively. In addition, students learn to be competent in communicating, evaluating, and analyzing information from a global, economic, civic, health, and ethical perspective. Our goal is to promote the highest quality instruction with continuous improvement of student learning and provide comprehensive learning opportunities for children. We expect that our graduates are prepared to excel in the challenges of higher education. These goals are at the core of all great educational systems and will always be the central priorities of the Lebanon Public School District.
