Lebanon Middle School’s Veterans Day celebration is a heartfelt tribute to those who have served our country. Organized by Mrs. Erica Strong, who did an outstanding job planning and preparing the event, the day began with a “Wall of Honor” displaying photos and information about veterans’ names, ranks, years of service, and unique experiences. The PTO sponsored a breakfast for veterans in the library, followed by a schoolwide assembly. Be sure to check out the sixth grade video at the link that follows: https://docs.google.com/videos/d/1UtwYMBA42RXbeo7rcDoYsUTk_bM4JBjiCH9ydx_61f4/play

What a metaphor this morning - The sky was grey and the rain continued to drizzle. But then our Peer Mentors arrived at the Lebanon Town Green for their entirely student run Miles for Minds walk for mental health awareness and the clouds dissipated and the sun broke through. We could not be more proud!

We had a great time recognizing our sports teams, peer mentors, and summer reading award recipients at our pep rally today to end spirit week on a high note. The staff went into full Game of Thrones battle mode with Ms. Bielewicz finishing the week atop the iron throne.

Good Afternoon and Happy Labor Day,

iReady Diagnostic Testing:

This week we begin our first round of iReady diagnostic testing. We use these scores to establish tiered intervention groups for students who need that extra bit of support and to set the level for our individualized learning pathway, MyPath. It is important that students try their best on the assessment. As such, any student flagged for rushing through the test will have their test reset and will need to retake it. Any student who refuses to take the assessment or who becomes disruptive of the testing environment will face disciplinary consequences. We appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations at home. Please ensure your student’s Chromebook is fully charged when they leave for school tomorrow.

Cell Phones:

Please remind your students that cell phones should be OFF and AWAY all day. If you need to contact your student, please call the main office and avoid encouraging your student to check their phone during the day. This policy will be strictly enforced this year.

Athletics:

Registration for fall sports (cross country, boys and girls soccer) are open. Visit the following website to register: https://lebanon-ct.finalforms.com/
The weekly practice schedule and competition schedules are updated daily at the following link which is also on our website: https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vSP2KhoGehdY7vYYO9Mwi6A6aNwYM8mr7JBrKJiWaCgxFeUy9UrHPn-zEOZ6rPail-s_pPtAAw3p3AT/pub

Enjoy the rest of your long weekend.

Good Afternoon LMS Families! We can’t wait to have the heart and soul of our school, your kids, back with us tomorrow. Here are a few reminders:

The bus schedule is on the district website. If there are any issues with buses, M & J Busing’s number is 860-423-9552.
We have a zero tolerance cell phone policy. They must be OFF and AWAY at ALL times.
Please check the Parent Portal to ensure there were no last minute changes to your student’s schedule. It is helpful if they have their homeroom teacher’s name memorized.
For returning students, please have them bring their CHARGED Chromebook.
Our two summer academic challenges - the Governor’s Reading Challenge and iReady Math Challenge are due September 12th.

Please enjoy this entertaining video created using our new AI tools featuring our staff members!
