LYMAN MEMORIAL ATHLETICS FALL SPORT PRESEASON MEET THE COACHES NIGHT

Lyman Memorial will host its fall sports preseason meeting for all prospective fall sport student-athletes, parents/guardians and coaches on Monday, August 15th at 5:00pm.
Following a general meeting including information from the athletic director and athletic trainer, each fall sport will break away and meet with the coaches for each program - inclusive of Boys/Girls Cross Country, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer and Girls Volleyball. Football parents will have already started at Coventry and do not need to attend.
Discussion will be inclusive of the online registration platform, sport physical requirements, new policies from CIAC and the State of CT, as well as info from our athletic trainer. Coaches will meet with their individual teams to discuss start dates, expectations and information needed for families to find success within our programs.
For anyone interested in participating in athletics at Lyman, Fall Sports begin on August 25th with the exception of football which starts on August 11th . Please make sure that you have completed the necessary paperwork and registered online at familyid.com in order to participate that first day. We will have sports clearance on the following days: August 10th- Football Clearance 10:00-12:00, August 23rd 8:00-11:00, August 24th 12:00-3:00, and August 25th 8:00-12:00.
Mayfest is all next week at Lyman!! Come check out all the cool projects that the students have been working on this year!
The Project Graduation committee is having a Silent Auction on May 6th from 5-8 here at Lyman. All proceeds will support a celebration for the Class of 2022!
We are excited to announce that Jim Spinnato from Mohegan Sun will be coming back to Lyman for a Comedy Hypnotist Show on Saturday, May 7th at 5:30pm! All proceeds will benefit the Class of 2022! Jim performed at our Bulldog Bash last year and we had so much fun!
This past week Caroline Nettleton attended the Connecticut All State Music Festival and performed on Saturday afternoon with the Treble Choir. Each year students have the opportunity to audition to be a part of this festival to perform with musicians from all over the state. Those selected into an ensemble come together for just two days of rehearsals to prepare a concert program of 5 pieces working with well-known conductors who have worked all over the country. Congratulations Caroline!

Lebanon Regional FFA students really represented our chapter today at Ag Day at the Capital. Everyone loved it and we had a great time. First, we stuffed bags of goodies for the legislators and then we toured agricultural exhibits and met a lot of great people. We even met the Commissioner of Agriculture Bryan Hurlburt.

Chris Farms in Scotland hosted our sophomore Ag Science students who are studying animal nutrition. They had a tour and learned how animal feed is made!
Message for JUNIORS, on Wednesday March 25th you will be taking the SAT. This year the SAT will be taken on your Chromebook. All JUNIORS are REQUIRED to bring their Chromebooks to PAWS on Monday and Tuesday next week for a tech check. Juniors should make sure to bring their school issued chromebook as well as its charger. Again all JUNIORS MUST bring their school issued chromebook and charger to PAWS on Monday and Tuesday next week.
Manchester Community College’s Open House will be held virtually on Tuesday, March 29, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. through WebEx.
Explore a variety of degree and certificate programs; student services and resource areas will present information, as well.
There will be plenty of time for questions within each break-out room.

Lyman has school spirit! Last week the students had themes for each day, a hallway decorating contest and an Evening with the Arts!
There is still time to sign up for spring sports! FamilyID is open for spring sports. Baseball, Softball, Boys and Girls Tennis, Boys and Girls Outdoor Track are available for students to register for at familyID.com. Spring sports begin on the following dates:
March 12 - Baseball & Softball Pitchers & Catchers
March 19 - Baseball (full squad), Softball (full squad), B/G Tennis, B/G Outdoor Track
Parents need to register each student-athlete prior to participating. Each student-athlete should check in with the nurse to ensure that they have the necessary paperwork on file so they can receive their clearance slip. Each athlete needs to have an updated physical on file with the nurse and an up-to-date health history on file.
